yoga figureNeurosequential Model of Therapeutics Training and Community Integration Kickoff
February 1, 2012 at College of San Mateo Theatre
12:00 – 4:00 pm in San Mateo
Educators, parents, community organizers, members of the criminal justice community, are all invited to this free event to learn how the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) can be used to improve health outcomes for our children.
NMT uses the most current understanding and research of child development, the impact of trauma, and brain research so providers and caretakers are better able to understand how to improve a child’s life and functioning. This model is recognized for having significant forensic and clinical implications for children and youth in our systems and communities.
San Mateo County is supporting BHRS (Behavioral Health and Recovery Services) and partner agencies (such as The Art of Yoga Project) to train with the Child Trauma Academy to learn and apply this model in therapy, education and care giving settings.
For more information on NMT, visit the ChildTrauma Academy website.
